Sarah Crumpler is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a lifelong connection to healthcare. Inspired by her mother, a nurse, and her father, a family practice physician, Sarah knew early on that she wanted to dedicate her career to helping others. While pursuing her undergraduate studies, she discovered a deep passion for mental health, which ultimately guided her into psychiatric nursing practice.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Sarah served honorably in the United States Navy. Her military service strengthened her leadership, resilience, and ability to remain calm under pressure, qualities that continue to shape her approach to patient care.

Sarah brings extensive nursing experience from Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where she worked as a Trauma Registered Nurse caring for complex medical and surgical patients, including individuals with psychiatric comorbidities. She was part of a high-performing team recognized with the Beacon Award for Excellence, reflecting a commitment to outstanding patient care and collaboration. Her experience in trauma and acute care enhanced her ability to support patients during vulnerable and high-stress situations with compassion and clinical confidence.

As a PMHNP, Sarah provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management across the lifespan. She is passionate about helping individuals navigate mental health challenges, improve their quality of life, and feel empowered in their treatment journey. She values therapeutic communication, evidence-based practice, and collaborative care, striving to create a supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and understood.
